The Colombian Navy committed to the security of the port of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, obtained the release of two men who were traveling in a van-type vehicle in which they were carrying toilet and household items; they were kidnaped by several individuals, apparently members of an organized gang outlaw, in the sector known as Pueblo Nuevo.
The individuals demanded 20 million pesos from the owner of the company to let him unload the merchandise. Upon noticing his refusal, they managed to steal some boxes.
A phone call alerted the Colombian Navy's Unified operation Group for Personal Freedom – Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), which immediately deployed its units to the area. The criminals upon noticing the work of the troops escaped.
This is how the Colombian Navy troops recover the two men, the vehicle and merchandise valued at more than 37 million pesos, safeguarding the lives of these people and helping this company to continue to conducts its commercial activity.
The Colombian Navy ratifies its commitment to the citizens and invites to denounce through the telephone line 147 available 24 hours a day. I don't pay, I report.
