The Illegal merchandise was in a vehicle that had been abandoned on a street In El Zapatero Neighborhood.
In the course of a coordinated operation, the Colombian Navy and the Attorney General's Office found 84 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 2,000 kilograms of cement in the city of Cartagena (Bolívar), which were being transported aboard a truck-type vehicle.
The result occurred once a search warrant was executed on a property in El Zapatero neighborhood of the Heroic City, by troops from the 12th Navy Infantry Battalion, of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bolívar, the Coast Guard Station of Cartagena and units of the Technical Investigation Corps, CTI, of the Prosecutor's Office, who at the end of this operations noticed a truck-type vehicle abandoned on the side of the road.
When the authorities did not find the driver of the vehicle and complied with all the security measures for this type of procedure, with the support of anti –explosive personnel, they carried out a review of the vehicle finding 84 rectangular packets of illicit substance inside, which, when conducting the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, left positive result for cocaine hydrochloride.
This illegal merchandise was hidden in the middle of 40 bags of grey cement, which were confiscated by troops since they did not have the corresponding documentation for their transport and marketing. No arrests were made during the operation and the material found was put into custody of the judicial authorities.
The Colombian Navy through troops attached to Infantry Brigade No. 1 of the Caribbean Naval Force, will continue to carried out operations that will make it possible to strike decisively at all links in the drug trafficking chain. In the same way, it ratifies its commitment to the safety and good physical condition of the inhabitants of the Colombian Caribbean.
