Thanks to the arduous operation and commitment to guarantee the security of the communities hit by the various factors of instability, the Colombian Navy, in carrying out search and control operations, managed to arrest a 30-year-old man who is apparently a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes on the north coast of the Colombian Pacific, in compliance with an arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office.
The events occurred in the municipality of Bahía Solano, Department of Chocó, after more than three months of follow-up by naval intelligence, where the man known as Pocholo was surprised by members of the Military Forces attached to Navy Infantry Battalion No.23 outside a house. At the time of the respective verifications, it was found that an arrest warrant was in force against him for the crimes of aggravated homicide and association to commit crimes.
Alias Pocholo was apparently a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo substructure Pacífico, which would have participated in the murder of the leader of the Río Alto Valle indigenous community. The arrested individual was put into custody of the authorities.
The Colombian Navy, through the Pacific Naval Force, reiterates its commitment to the security and tranquility of the inhabitants beaten by these illegal groups, in order to neutralize their criminal activities by arresting their members, and invites the community to denounce any illegal act through lines 146 and 147.
