Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) attack extortion carried out from prisons
Through operations in different departments of the country, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) arrest 25 individuals for the crime of extortion, 13 for kidnapping and 15 for other crimes.
As part of the tactical missions under the Plan to attack extortion from prison, two raids and searches were carried out at the El Bosque District prison in the department of the Caribbean and the Maximum and Medium Security prison in Cómbita in Boyacá.
The Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, as well as the Organized Gang Los Troyanos, the gang of Los Comuneros, and the criminal organizations at the service of drug traffickers and criminal groups, have been the most impacted by the units Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), because it was possible to put behind bars these members in charge of the extortion and kidnapping to merchants, productive groups, businesses, and civilians in general in different areas of the country.
In the same way, the raids carried out in the prisons by Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) units in coordination with the National Police, GAULA of the Police and the National Penitentiary and Prison Institute INPEC, find material used to carry out extortion crimes, allegedly perpetrated by the prisoners through cellular calls better known as the prison call, managing to directly combat the criminal structures that exercise their operations within the prisons.
