Army, Air Force, Colombian Navy, National Police, Department for Social Prosperity, SENA, ICBF and Civil Defense, under the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and with the participation of institutions such as SISBÉN, Migracion Colombia, Foundations, among others, provided different services within the framework of the Unified operation Acceleration Plan (PAAU).
Children, girls, adolescents and adults in Baru received this weekend a space of leisure and a wide range thanks to the coordination of the Military Forces, the Mayor of Cartagena and various private and public institutions with national, departmental and local presence.
More than 2,300 people accessed services who, for reasons of displacement, family conditions or vulnerability, cannot easily receive, some of them such as general medicine, optometry, pediatrics, occupational guidance, educational programs, Youth and Families in Action, Solidarity Income, Peasant Market, National Reporting, Migracion Colombia, nutrition for children, public employment programs, programs of the Mayor's Office, among others.
The community received with satisfaction about 20 institutions and gratefully requested more activities lake this one, which allow the State to approach to solve the needs of the Cartagena peninsula. “I think this Activity is great, this project that came to Barú is incredible, because telling the truth we do not have many opportunities, those that come to the municipality are few and that is why I am very grateful with this event that they have done today”, said Alexandra Julio Herrera, inhabitant of Barú.
“The PAAU has come where we want to bring a light of hope so that they will feel and understand that they have a Government that cares about every corner of the country, we work to get to know them, provide them with comprehensive activities and continue to work hand-in-hand with Military Forces, Police, institutions and Mayor's office to support communities to re-establish order when necessary and build a better future for all,” said the vice-Minister for Policy and International Affairs, Sandra Alzate Cifuentes.
