The timely reaction of the troops, of the National Army, to neutralize a kidnapping for ransom of the medical mission of the Secretary of Health of the Department of Meta, resulted in the rescue of 17 people and 2 minors.
The act was allegedly perpetrated by members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structura Primera.
Those rescued received priority assistance from combat nurses, as well as information on personal security guidelines.
These people were evacuated in National Army aircraft.
