Units of the Brigade for Disaster Response and Prevention carry out work to extinguish and control the forest fire that has been taking place since last Sunday in the Tuparro National Natural Park, in the department of Vichada.
Since the day the conflagration began, Colombian National Army sent approximately 40 men, trained to provide support in this kind of emergency.
Members of the Military Forces, of the Brigade for Disaster Prevention and Assistance, with a constant and permanent work during the 24 hours, have managed to control 60 percent of the fire.
In the area, joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work by the National Army, along with the Air Force, the Police, Firefighters and other institutions, continues to extinguish the fire.
This natural park is a reservation for animals and ecosystems of the region of the Orinoquía and the Eastern Plains.
