424 bottles of illegal liquor were found by troops of the Thirty-First Brigade in the municipality of Yavaraté, border area with Brazil, as a sign of the commitment to the well-being of Vaupés inhabitants.
In the anti contraband fight on the border conducted by Colombia and Brazil, National Army, the Governor of the Vaupés and other allied institutions that exert control over the department are working for the well-being of people and prevent the problem to the public health due to consumption of corote, a liqueur of foreign origin that contains 39 degrees of alcohol and the has effects in its consumers.
Framed in Law 1762 of 2015, through which instruments are adopted to prevent, control and punish smuggling, soldiers of the National Army made the finding of 153 bottles of corote, 106 bottles of camelinho and 165 SKOL beers, after the increase of river patrols throughout the department.
This decisive operation against smuggling took place thanks to the inter-institutional committees that are led by the departmental administration and the instructions that the National Army troops have received from the Anti-smuggling program of the Government of Vaupés.
