The Colombian Navy, in coordination with civil and military authorities, together with private companies, carried out health and wellbeing activities in Taganga - Magdalena, for the benefit of the inhabitants and their environment.
Members of the Santa Marta Coast Guard Primary Station, the National Army, the General Maritime Directorate, as well as the Santa Marta Public Services Company of Comprehensive Occupational Health Services Promotion and Prevention Prevenir 1, and the District Mayor's Office of Santa Marta, met to held an activity to support the development and cleaning of beaches, in which the inhabitants of the place received an awareness for the good management of solid waste and were part of the beach cleaning.
During the event, vaccination against Covid 19, information update for Sisben (system for potential beneficiaries of social programs), distribution of Bienestarina (food supplement) and recreational leisure activities were carried out.
It is worth highlighting the importance of care and conservation of the environment, especially the protection of ecosystems (coral reefs, seagrasses, sandy coasts and mangroves) existing in the Taganga sector, the purpose of these activities is to seek to make locals and tourists aware of the importance of recycling and disposing garbage in the appropriate places.
