Alias Sayona would be responsible for the homicide on July 9, 2021 of social leader Mrs. Gertrudis Hernández Leal, who was serving as a representative of the people of the village Palmarito, rural area of Cúcuta. In the course of military operations within the Esparta Military and Police Campaign, the National Army, in the course of coordinated and inter-institutional operations with the Police and the Prosecutor's Office, reports the death in the course of military operations of two individuals, including an alleged ringleader, as well as the arrest of two women, apparently members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in Norte de Santander.

This individual would have more than 13 years of criminal experience and would be a demobilized of the AUC group Catatumbo Bloc.
According to information of the authorities, he was an individual arrested in 2014 for the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying and possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition. In 2017 he would have resumed his criminal activities.
Sayona, according to intelligence reports, would have assumed as the head of the armed substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo in 2021, after the neutralization of alias Boína, he would be leading armed confrontations against the GAO Eln for the territorial dispute and criminal rents in the rural area of Cúcuta.
In the same incident, another individual died in the course of the military operation and two women, known by the aliases Kate and Mafe, apparently members of the criminal network of that organized armed group, were arrested.
A rifle, three pistols, a revolver, a hand grenade, firearms magazines and abundant ammunition were found by troops in the operation. This material and the arrested were put into custody of the authority for their respective prosecution.
