The Colombian Navy in river operations in Tumaco, Nariño, or the finding and destruction of a fully completed semi submarine naval device of 17 meters long and 4 meters wide, which would be used at the service of the FARC dissident group structure “Western Bloc Alfonso Cano” for the traffic of approximately four tons of narcotic substances destined for Central America.
Intelligence information of the Colombian Navy guided the units of the Navy Infantry River Brigade No. 4 of the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules, who found the naval device, which was hidden in the middle of the mangrove ready to be loaded, in a zone of the municipality of Tumaco.
At the site of the finding, an Explosives and Humanitarian Demining Team composed of highly trained men, carried out the review procedure, determining that the semi-submarine had not been prepared with explosives. Later, during the inspection inside this device, 360 gallons of gasoline and communications equipment were found by troops.
The semi-submarine, which would cost more than 1,600 million Colombian pesos, was destroyed in controlled conditions at the scene, in accordance with established protocols, given the conditions of the terrain.
With this decisive result it was possible to weaken the financial and logistical muscle of the FARC dissident group Bloque Occidental Alfonso Cano, under the criminal command of the individual alias Allende, neutralizing one of its main modes of transport for illicit drug trafficking of the Nariño Pacific to international markets.
