Units of the Navy of Colombia during operations in river against the different illegal armed groups that recruit by force boys, girls, youth and teens, and also commit drug trafficking that create mass displacement, in the sector of Las Palmas, on the Naya river in a rural area of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, engaged an armed confrontation against alleged members of Organised Armed Group, residual Structure 6 Jaime Martinez of the Farc dissidents, who were on the river; four navy men were injured due to the impact of a firearm and shrapnel.
The four wounded navy men were taken aboard the river unit in which they were traveling to land, where a Colombian Navy helicopter evacuated them to the port of Buenaventura, to receive medical assistance.
The troops still continue to be in the area carried out operations to find these individuals.
The Colombian Navy provides psychosocial support to the families of the injured crew members and will continue to carry out operations against organized armed groups that commit crimes against the tranquility of the inhabitants of the region.
