After almost three days of fire, with more than 200 hectares burned, the Colombian Air Force with the support of the departmental Risk Management Unit, different relief agencies and the National Army decided to completely put out the heavy flames that were consuming the mountain vegetation in the municipality of Prado, Tolima.
With the Bamby Bucket System, crews of the Air Combat Command No.4 carried out extinction work by air, added to the great work done by the Army and other institutions by land concluding with this great operation that led to extinguishing the conflagration and stop the loss of a greater proportion of the ecosystem.
Under the timely coordination of the National Personnel Recovery Center, the crews of the Colombian Air Force will remain on alert to support Colombians where necessary, contributing to the preservation of the flora and fauna of the region.
