The properties are valued at more than 7000 million pesos.
In a simultaneous operation of the National Army and in an interinstitutional way with the Attorney General's Office, carried out in Yopal, Casanare; Fortul, Arauca; Villavicencio, Meta, and Bogotá, the raids of confiscation of 11 urban, 2 rural properties and 10 vehicles, belonging to the ex-governor of Arauca José Facundo Castillo Cisneros, were carried out. These properties would be valued at 7,624 million pesos.
The former official is being investigated and remains deprived of liberty in a prison center as allegedly responsible for multiple hiring irregularities during the two periods in which he served as governor (2012-2015 and 2020-2021). He was charged with the crimes financing of terrorism and organized crime groups and administration of resources related to terrorist activities and organized crime; contract without compliance with legal requirements; embezzlement for appropriation in favor of third parties aggravated and association to commit aggravated crimes.
The properties occupied for the purpose of expropriation were put into custody of the Special Assets Society.
