With a wide deployment of river and land units, troops of the Colombian Navy, the National Army and members of the Military Forces and the National Police intensified the operational search efforts to find eight fishermen, who were allegedly held against their will by armed individuals in the Middle Magdalena region.
According to the information provided to the authorities by the Civic Participation Network, the fishermen were reportedly deprived of their liberty and taken to the Sardinata village of Yondo - Antioquia, where they were last seen.
Once the Naval Institution knew the facts, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 through River checkpoint No.31 of Barrancabermeja in conjunction with a river combat element, carried out insertion in the area of the Middle Magdalena, to conduct in the area the necessary operations that lead to the finding of the disappeared personnel.
