Together with institutions of the municipality of Mitú, the National Army continues to contribute to the communities of the Department of Vaupés, through the tools of Comprehensive Action and the accompaniment of public and private institutions, with the realization of a Development Support Activity in the Pituna people region, municipality of Mitú, which was attended by 530 people, who received health care, beauty, advice by the Secretary of Education and leisure and recreational activities.
The Thirty-First Jungle Brigade together with the governing authority of the municipality of Mitú, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, San Antonio Hospital, National Learning Service (SENA), National Civil Registry office, Volunteer Firefighters and among others, went by a river route, to successfully carry out this activity that contributed to providing benefits to more than three indigenous communities, such as: Pituna, Garrafa, Puerto López and Santa Marta.
This activity benefited children, young people and adults through general medicine, psychology and dentistry services. In the same way, it provided information of general interest to the inhabitants about education programs, so that they can access these benefits.
The operation of the Colombian soldier with the institutions is fundamental, to protect our communities, this is how its inhabitants enjoy hairdressing services, health services, cinema, community lunch, recreational activities aimed at children and youth inhabitants, with balloon flexion activities, inflatables and sports games.
This is how the department of Vaupés has an Army working for Human Rights, and places its main Resources at their service, highlighting the Activities of Support for Development that contribute to the well-being of the most remote communities, ratifying the commitment to the protection of indigenous inhabitants.
