Those arrested and the materials were put into custody of the authorities for the due prosecution.
As a result of joint and inter-institutional work, soldiers of the National Army, with the support of the Air Force and agents of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office, by means of an air assault, the arrest of four men and one woman, alleged members of the Julio César Vargas substructure, of the GAO Clan del Golfo, in the Penilvania village, in Antioquia.
The seized material includes 6 rifles, 3601 cartridges of different calibers, 8 improvised explosive devices, 20 ammunition magazines and 4 communication radios, military accessories and propaganda material alluding to this illegal armed organization.
According to the investigations, the material would be used to frighten civilians and attack against the Military Forces that carry out operations in this region of the country.
