In the facilities of the General Carlos Julio Gil Colorado Artillery School, in Bogotá, Colombia, the military ceremony of the 122nd relay of the Infantry Battalion N° 3 Colombia, a military unit that in the Sinai Peninsula, Egypt, and that is part of the Multinational Force & Observers, was held.
At the event, chaired by Brigadier General Olveiro Pérez Mahecha, commander of the Joint Command No. 3, a recognition was made to the 136 military personnel who will be part of this unit, who were selected for their outstanding operation in each of their areas.
During the ceremony, the recognition of the command of the battalion was made to Major Jerson Fabián Tapias Agudelo, an officer who served as commander of the GAULA (ANTI-EXTORTION AND ANTI-KIDNAPPING GROUP) - Arauca. In the same way, among the selected personnel there is the sergeant Deivinson Alexander Bautista Montoya and the specialist soldiers Omar Fernando Moreno Marinin and Daniel Felipe Martínez Caucil, who participated in the rescue of the four children lost in the jungle of the department of Guaviare.
In the same way, Second Lieutenant Luz Mariana Fuentes, of the Infantry Weapon, will be part of the relay. She has been chosen for her significant operational results against armed organizations that converge in the center of the country.
The Infantry Battalion No. 3 Colombia is 11,499 kilometers away from Colombia, to verify, observe and report to the Multinational Force & Observers any incident that violates the Camp David peace treaty, in the border area of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel.
