In the facilities of the Special Forces Group of Peru (GRUFE), in Pucusana, the Army, Navy and Air Force of this country, together with the Team of rescuers of the United States and men of the Air Special Operations Group of the Colombian Aerospace Force, met to train in techniques, tactics and procedures established according to NATO parameters in terms of rescue, search, and recovery of personnel.
Thus, in the training tower, each country had the opportunity to verify the anchors and configuration of the ropes, making the rope descent qualification with the rappel technique and F.R.I.E.S. (Fast Rope Insertion Extractions Systems), which are rope systems designed for personnel rescue and work as a fast rope, reducing risks for operators and helicopters participating in these simulated operations.
In this same environment, they received instruction on procedures (CASEVAC), "Casualty Evacuation", Evacuation of Victims, sharing there their experiences with insertion maneuvers, extraction with crane and rescue basket, as well as trauma care of patients hit by natural disaster in confined environments or in combat.
This series of activities is carried out within the Multinational Exercise Resolute Sentinel 2024, as an opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen experiences in the field of rescue, ratifying that the members of the Colombian Aerospace Force are prepared and have the capacity to operate jointly and combined, assisting any situation both in peacetime and in wartime.
