One of those arrested was wanted for the crime of forced displacement.
In compliance with the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho, within the framework of a coordinated operation of the Colombian Navy, the Attorney General's Office and the National Police, the arrest of three alleged criminals was carried out in the Special District of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca.
Troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.24 arrived at the 12th locality of the Special District, as well as personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps -CTI- and the National Police, who, in compliance with a search warrant issued by the Seventh Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Buenaventura, arrested a man and a woman, and found a 9 mm caliber pistol and 15 cartridges of the same caliber.
During the search in the area, a Glock pistol, a magazine and 17 cartridges were found by troops, which had been abandoned by individuals who started to escape when they noticed the work of the military. In this same locality, alias Bebé was arrested, who was wanted through an arrest warrant issued by the Fifth Municipal Criminal Court of Buenaventura, for the crime of forced displacement in the Special District.
Those arrested were allegedly members of the faction Los Shottas, of the Organized Gang La Local, who under the criminal command of alias Diego Optra would be in charge of kidnappings, murders and extortions against different productive groups.
Those arrested were put into custody of the Seventh Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Buenaventura, for their prosecution.
