As custodians of the environment, the soldiers of Colombian National Army affirm their commitment to the care of the environment in the departments of Caquetá, Putumayo and Amazonas, this in coordination with different institutions and public or private corporations that work for the conservation of nature and biodiversity in this region of the country.
That is why, in the Colombian Amazonas, Colombian National Army has led a series of significant operations to strengthen the conservation and care of natural resources. Through the Integrated operation and Development Support Battalion No. 6, in coordination with other territorial units, it has conducted a tireless operation to protect Colombian biodiversity, this year alone they have planted about 18,400 trees in areas that have been deforested or hit by forest fires.
In addition, the soldiers have participated in the intervention of streams such as: El Dedito, La Yuca, Río Hacha, La Perdiz, Sinú, among others, removing solid waste that damage the water quality, they have in the same way collected about 3000 tons of polluting waste for the environment and focus of diseases and infections.
“The soldiers of Colombian National Army are working for the reforestation and care of the environment, we coordinate with the institutions of the region, to inspire young people to be custodians of the environment and work for the preservation of the flora, fauna and water sources of the Colombian Amazon,” said Corporal Leonardo Millán of the Comprehensive operation and Development Support Battalion No. 6.
For their part, institutions working in alliance with Colombian National Army are grateful for the operation that has been carried out by soldiers on the whole issue of the environment.
