During her stay at the dock of the Port Society of San Andr茅s, the floating Ambassador of Colombia on the seas received 3,072 visitors. The islanders, locals and tourists had the privilege of enjoying a tour of the facilities of the ARC Gloria Training Ship, admiring its imposing beauty and getting to know the history and traditions that are lived on board.
The Cabin Boy cruise ship of the year 2024 arrived on the island after sailing more than 1,800 nautical miles providing experience and knowledge to the students of the Naval Non-Commissioned Officer School ARC Barranquilla. There were three days of open doors and cultural and academic activities on board, which led to closer ties between the people and the Colombian Navy.
The new generations of this Colombian island territory accepted the invitation that together with the Government of the Archipelago of San Andr茅s, Providencia and Santa Catalina was made, massively attending the information events on the academic training services and the sea of possibilities for those on the Island who dream of being Colombian Sailors.
The flagship will continue the journey to Barranquilla, continuing with the training of the Cabin Boys, who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their academic development. Throughout the cruise, the 72 students have participated in various practical and theoretical activities, including navigation maneuvers, maritime safety instruction and teamwork practices.
The Colombian Navy is proud to have shared this unique experience with all visitors to San Andr茅s and is committed to continuing to promote maritime culture, the passion for the sea and the love of navigation and the blue color of the flag so that more and more new generations know the bond that unites all Colombians through the seas, rivers, coasts and insular areas, where we maintain our presence to protect them.
