The military operations have led to hitting the illicit activities that finance the operations that threaten the life and tranquility of the inhabitants of Santander, Norte de Santander Department, sur de Bol铆var, Cesar and Antioquia.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, Colombian National Army, with its troops carrying out operations in the departments covered by the Second Division, has made important results in the military operation in the first semester, which leave a positive report in its frontal struggle against all illegal structures.
The troops trained to weaken the organized armed groups and common crime arrested more than 1,000 individuals, recovered three minors and obtained the surrender to justice of 14 members of these structures. In the same way, more than 180 long and short weapons, 6,389 cartridges of different calibers, explosives and grenades, among other war material, were found by troops.
In the fight against the problem of drug trafficking, Army troops, in coordination with the Police and the Attorney General's Office, have dismantled 140 laboratories where coca paste base was produced that was later processed to obtain cocaine hydrochloride. As part of the interception operations, the soldiers found 6.3 tons of cocaine, 3 tons of coca paste base and more than 400 kilos of marijuana.
In the first six months of the year, the frontal operation against drug trafficking hit structures specialized in the illegal trade and transportation of precursors, chemical substances and fuel with the seizure of more than 38,000 gallons of liquid precursors, 42 tons of solid precursors, 7.8 million gallons of fuel and more than 30 seedbeds.
So far this year, 13 terrorist operations have been neutralized, with which the illegal armed groups planned to attack the inhabitants, the strategic resources of the region and the troops; the threat of 19 explosive devices and 49 anti-personnel mines have in the same way been neutralized, and 65 illegal hiding places have been found.
On the other hand, and in compliance with the Amazon Institutional Plan, in operations carried out to preserve the environment, in the first semester, the troops have detected 55 valves and 41 illegal refineries that were used to steal petroleum of the pipeline, process it and convert it into fuel that is later used for drug trafficking purposes, preventing contamination of water sources and protecting flora and fauna.
