The Colombian National Army has begun unarmed work in the village of El Plateado, with the arrival of the soldiers of Comprehensive operation.
With the launch of Operation Perseo, which seeks to recover, stabilize and protect the urban area of El Plateado, in Argelia, Cauca, hit by violence and drug trafficking, comes the Comprehensive operation and Development Support Battalion No. 3, as a strategic unit and unarmed work of Colombian National Army, to initially distribute two tons of humanitarian aid to the community.
These grants consist of school kits, non-perishable food, clothing and footwear for children and adults, oral hygiene kits, personal hygiene items, among others, thanks to the support of strategic allies who have joined this cause with the aim of providing wellness strategies for the communities of the area.
The soldiers of Comprehensive operation will be key as coordinators of the various actors of the unified operation of the State. Their operation not only strengthens institutional activity, but in the same way promotes the progress and development of the community, facilitating collaboration between the government institutions, social organizations and local inhabitants. Through joint initiatives, these soldiers will contribute to the construction of a safer and more prosperous environment, promoting well-being and social cohesion in the region.
The mission of the comprehensive operation and Development Support Battalion No. 3 in this operation in the same way includes the dissemination of relevant information to the inhabitants of El Plateado, through special teams of the Ground Combat Battalion and aerial loudspeakers, thanks to the support of the Colombian Air Force, an activity that seeks to strengthen communication and development in the region, promoting an environment of peace and mutual collaboration.
This special unit in the same way has the objective of mediating and facilitating the reintegration of members of the Carlos Patiño Front who wish to leave the conflict, linking them to government programs and accessing the benefits that the Colombian State provides.
In the same way, as part of the synergy of the military operation, the stations Colombia Estéreo Argelia 105.9 F.M. and Popayán 95.1 F.M. are informing the inhabitants minute by minute. Through the radio, messages are broadcasted to the community, urging them to take shelter inside their homes to protect their personal good physical condition.
The key message is: The soldier is there to protect you.
During this operation, information is in the same way provided about the rewards provided for the arrest of the ringleaders of the Carlos Patiño Front and also about the existence of Line 107, enabled for reporting the criminal acts of these terrorist groups.
“Operation Perseo is a joint effort to recover and protect El Plateado. It works for the safety and well-being of the people and, for that reason, troops join efforts with public and private institutions to start this new way, bringing humanitarian aid to the inhabitants, aid that leads to strengthen trust with the communities,” said Captain Dickson Moreno, commander (acting) of the Comprehensive operation and Development Support Battalion No. 3.
