Colombian National Army is carrying out operations in the Meta department to weaken this and other groups that seek to expand and disrupt the peace of the inhabitants. Alias Perci, one of its ringleaders, is in the sights of the Military Forces.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, Colombian National Army executed an operation in the east and center of the country, dealing a new blow to the illegal organizations operating in the region.
During the operation by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Meta, in coordination with the National Police, three alleged members of the finance group of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r-Bloque Amazonas, Structure 39 Arcesio Niño, were arrested under judicial order. These individuals would be involved in support activities for networks of residual structures.
Two of the arrests were made in the sectors of Tillavá and Puerto Triunfo, in the municipality of Puerto Gaitán, Meta; the third was made in the Puente Aranda locality, in Bogotá. Alias Perci, the ringleader of this group, continues to be a priority target for the authorities.
These individuals would be specialized in the procurement of weapons, ammunition and explosives, to generate beatings against the inhabitants, constructions and Military Forces. Those arrested will be prosecuted for crimes such as association to commit aggravated crimes for extortion purposes, among others.
