It is presumed that these anti-personnel mines had been installed with the intention of attacking the troops carrying out military operations in these municipalities of the department.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Fourteenth Brigade found an anti-personnel mine in the Cancha Manila village of the municipality of Segovia, Antioquia, which was apparently planted by organized armed groups that commit crimes in this area of Northeastern Antioquia.
This explosive device was located by the troops on a road and after its finding with the support of the explosives and demolitions team (EXDE) and under all security protocols, its controlled destruction was carried out, thus preventing loss of human lives or causing irreversible damage to those who pass through the place.
Similarly, in the village of La Plancha in the municipality of Anorí, the soldiers, with the support of the EXDE team, carried out the neutralization of an anti-personnel mine, a deadly weapon that was found in an area where peasants of the area pass through.
The branch heavily condemns these acts, which constitute a clear violation of human rights and a violation of international humanitarian law, since the life and security of the inhabitants of the sector are being directly attacked.
