These activities promote the respect and care of wildlife and strengthens the recovery of the natural environments.
Soldiers of the Battalion of Support and Services for Combat N.° 11 Cacique Tirrome, of the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, joining forces with the Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Sinu and San Jorge Valleys (CVS), and delegates of the Veolia group, carried out the rescue of wildlife in wooded areas of the Sierra Chiquita sector, in the city of Montería, Córdoba.
During this environmental activity, 34 birds of different species were rescued, including 18 canaries, 5 parakeets, 4 parrots, 3 owls, 2 rositas, a Congo Bajero and a “rice farmer” Congo, which were rescued to be returned to their natural habitat.
Within the framework of the Amazonas Plan, the troops of Colombian National Army carry out operations aimed at the preservation of the flora, fauna, water and biodiversity of the Cordoba region, contributing to environmental sustainability.
