The operation was carried out thanks to the investigative work of the Amazonas Information Fusion Center.
In a multinational operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Brazilian Federal Police, with information provided by the Amazonas Information Fusion Center, a boat carrying more than two tons of narcotics was intercepted on Lake Catalão, municipality of Iranduba, state of Amazonas - Brazil.
During the search of the boat, 988 kilograms of Creepy-type marijuana and 1,120 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops.
It is presumed that the narcotics would come from the triple border of Colombia, Brazil and Peru and would have been transported through various river routes to the place of interception. This illegal merchandise would have as destination the city of Manaus - Brazil, from where the distribution of the drugs would take place.
The material was put into custody of the Narcotics Apprehension Department of the Federal Police in Manaus, for the corresponding judicial proceedings.
