Through this result, the commercialization of more than three million doses of cocaine on the streets of the world was prevented.
Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy, detected and intercepted a boat manned by four individuals, while sailing in the waters of the South Pacific, in which 67 black bags were traveling that, apparently, due to their packaging characteristics, could contain illicit substances.
During the operation, due to adverse weather conditions in the area, the suspect ship sank. However, the crew of the Coast Guard Station of Tumaco recovered the cargo, taking it with the people to a safe port.
Once at the dock, the Technical Staff of Criminal and Judicial Investigation - CTI, carried out the relevant tests, determining that it was 1,341 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. It is estimated that this illegal merchandise would cost more than 45 million dollars.
The four men of Colombian nationality were arrested for the alleged crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics and put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for prosecution.
