In Villavicencio, capital of the department of Meta, this event leaves sales exceeded expectations. Under the framework of Law 2046 of 2020, strategic agreements were facilitated between buyers and local producers, thus promoting regional economic development.
Key institutions such as the Rural Development Agency (ADR), the Government of Meta, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing (ICBF), and the Comprehensive operation of Colombian National Army participated, along with numerous producers and organizations of the department.
This is how we ratify our commitment to generate well-being and development for medium and small producers in the region, said Major Hugo Andrés Sepulveda Ruiz, commander of the Comprehensive operation Battalion No.4.

16 protocol agreements were concluded by eight local producers and six buyers, totaling 120,434,612 pesos.
“We are happy with the results. We ensure the follow-up of Law 2046 of 2020 and for this reason we are glad that spaces such as the Business Meeting at Expomalocas are being generated so that small producers can get involved in public procurement and operators can do their duty,” said Paola Gutiérrez, ADR marketing directorate.
Some of the products were eggs, chicken, cheese, milk, to fruits such as banana, orange, papaya, and basic products such as pumpkins and beans.
The commitment continues with the pedagogical follow-up of these agreements, to enhance local resources and further invigorate the economy of the department of Meta.
