In the military operation, two common criminals were arrested in flagrante delicto when they received a large sum of money as a result of extortion.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, troops of the Antioquia Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), of the Fourth Brigade, in coordination with the Technical Research Corps (CTI) Medell铆n, carried out an important military operation that produced excellent results, working for raising the security and wellbeing of the citizens.
The military units began the necessary intelligence work after receiving the respective denunciation about an illegal operation conducted by unknown persons. The individuals approached the victim demanding 700 million pesos, allegedly the product of debts left by her deceased spouse two years ago.
The criminals, seeing that the victim was getting into a state of despair and unrest and taking advantage of his calamity situation, provided him with an agreement for the payment of the alleged debt. This consisted of paying half of the total, that is, 350 million pesos, of which he would initially pay 100 million pesos and the rest in monthly payments.
It is at this point that the soldiers, accompanied by the CTI, after intelligence work and collecting the necessary information, began tracking the criminals. Using the necessary military resources to act in these cases, they arrived at the place where the extortionists summoned the victim for the payment of the first 100 million pesos and were subsequently arrested in flagrante delicto.
The Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Antioquia, in coordination with the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office, will continue to work to combat the crimes of kidnapping and extortion, and take care of the heritage and freedom of citizens.
