Within the framework of military operations against drug trafficking, within the framework of the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan - Tiempo 2 - in the last few hours the Military Forces, together with the National Police, found 500 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, ready to be sent abroad.
The finding took place in the rural area of the municipality of Chigorod贸, in the subregion of the Antioquian Urab谩, after an arduous military follow-up of the municipality of Bel茅n de Bajira in the department of Choc贸. The members of the Military Forces arrived at the place and found inside an abandoned farm in the middle of banana planting an illegal hiding place with the drug.
After two months of military intelligence it was possible to track the individuals who were carrying out the movement of this drug that they were bringing from the department of Cauca and had left abandoned, waterproofed covered with plastics, and hidden in the middle of a banana plantation.
The drugs were to be sent by drug trafficking routes to Central America and the United States, in GoFast boats.
According to information, the drug shipment would belong to the Carlos V谩squez substructure of the Clan del Golfo, who has alliances with transnational groups in the countries of Panama and Mexico. The shipment would have a cost of more than 2 and a half billion pesos, about US$605.000.
