Six people arrested, a long-range weapon, ammunition and material for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices were found by troops.
After an arduous intelligence work carried out by the Omega Joint Task Force within the framework of the Ayacucho Strategic Campaign Plan -Tiempo 2-, and through a joint and coordinated operation with the Colombian Navy and the National Police, alias El Indio was arrested, who apparently participated in the terrorist acts, where two explosive devices were left against the Cartagena del Chairá Police station, on September 14 of this year.
In the same way, it has been established that this individual would apparently fulfill criminal functions as an explosives expert within the Rodrigo Cadete Front, and that at the same time he would be planning another series of attacks against the Caquete people.
Another of those arrested, was identified as alias Filo de Hambre, who had been in this structure for approximately six years and had been making extortion calls, caling inhabitants and merchants of the department of Caquetá. In addition, he would be the right-hand man of alias Tornillo, head of finance of this structure. Alias Filo de Hambre, would be responsible for making extortion threats to the governor of the department of Caquetá.
In another operation carried out by the troops, an illegal hideout with abundant war material and elements for the manufacture of improvised explosive devices was found, which would belong to a residual Organized Armed Group.
Four people arrested, a high-caliber rifle, 6,078 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, 615 kilograms of shrapnel, 380 jars of black powder equivalent to 53,200 grams, 332 lead units, 100 explosive devices with characteristics similar to grenades, 300 components of explosive device throwing methods, eight banners alluding to a residual Organized Armed Group and a magazine, were found by troops inside a house 5 kilometers of the municipal seat of Cartagena del Chairá, on the road that leads to the municipality of El Paujil, Caquetá, which functioned as an illegal hiding place.
In the same way, the Specific Command of the Caguán has carried out different accompaniments to the National Agency for Land Restitution and the telecommunications company Claro to carry out different activities. It has in the same way participated in development support activities where more than 1,000 people have benefited with different services.
The Joint Task Force Omega, reinforced the number of units by land, river and air in this area of the Bajo Caguán region, Caquetá, to conduct stability tasks that provide greater security.
