According to the first information, alias Rosemberg would be part of the illegal finance structure of the Jorge Briceño structure. The detainee would have menaced local representatives of that department.
Within the framework of operations of institutional control, framed within the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan -Time 2 - the Military Forces dealt a heavy blow against structures specialized in crimes against personal freedom.
This is how troops of the department of Meta Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), found, in the village of La Esmeralda rural area of the municipality of El Castillo, in Meta, the place where alias Rosemberg, head of illegal finances of the Jorge Briceño structure of the groups known as the Central General Staff of the FARC dissidents, was trying to hide of the authorities who were looking for him for various crimes against regional and local officials, as well as merchants in the regions of La Orinoquia, el Ariari and the Llanero Foot of Mount.
This individual would intimidate merchants, ranchers, farmers and transporters to agree to receive the payment of extortions in exchange for not attacking them, their families as well as their properties and movable and immovable property.
In the same way alias Rosemberg, had threatened the mayor of the municipality of El Dorado, Meta. According to the first information, this individual would have participated in the planning and execution of the attacks on businesses in Granada and Acacías with explosives.
Together with this individual, the Military Forces arrested two other individuals who were found by troops with two firearms, ammunition of different calibers, communications equipment, extortion pamphlets and a fragmentation grenade. This last element was used to menace their victims and pressure them to pay “extortive fees.”
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities for the respective prosecution process.
In the area of the events, the General Command of the Military Forces ordered the strengthening of the security operation to work for the normal development of the economic and social activities of the communities of this region.
In 2024, more than 300 individuals have been arrested accused of carrying out extortion operations against citizens in different parts of the country.
