For two years the people of the village La Garza lived a real ordeal due to the fall of the bridge that connected them with the Cali-Lobo Guerrero-Buenaventura national road.
The wait of the people of Dagua ends today thanks to the work of 22 soldiers of Colombian National Army, who conducted work for 8 days, record time for this type of works.
The 90th Special Operations Engineer Battalion carried out the installation of the United States semi-permanent modular structure of the Acrow type of 39.65 meters in length, with a load-bearing capacity of 52 tons.
The coordinated work conducted by the government of Valle del Cauca and the Municipal Mayor of Dagua led to the previous adaptation works that made the installation of the bridge possible.
The transport logistics of the structure took place in three phases, the first from the Military Fort of Tolemaida to the city of Armenia, the second to Buga and the third to the municipality of Dagua.
This work directly benefits 200 families and is of great importance, since through it a safe mobility is possible, which will lead the inhabitants to resume their work normally and contribute to the economic reactivation of the area. Through this new access the commercialization of their agricultural products is in the same way facilitated.
It should be noted that, due to the completion of this project, the Military Engineers have planned the installation of three more bridges in various regions of the country, putting their differential resources at the service of the most vulnerable communities.
