As part of this operation, the participating navies celebrated the national holidays of each of the countries.
This multinational deployment aims to train to face transnational crimes that impact the security, development and ecosystems of the lung of the world.
The Colombian Navy successfully completed the international operation Bracolper Ouro 2024, which celebrated half a century of cooperation on the triple border of Brazil, Colombia and Peru, strengthening the commitment of these three nations to security, peace and development in the Amazonas region.
For this commemorative edition, the Naval Institution participated with the ARC Leticia and ARC Arauca, in the first and second phases, and with the river patrol boat ARC TECIM Eddic Cristian Reyes Holguín in the third phase, which sailed more than 4,400 nautical miles in a multinational deployment along the Amazonas and Putumayo rivers.
The operation, which was divided into three strategic phases, had as meeting points the cities of Leticia - Colombia; Iquitos - Peru; and Manaus - Brazil, where the crews carried out complex command and control maneuvers; anti-aircraft warfare exercises, Special Forces operations and river amphibious simulations.
During this edition, the navies of Brazil and Colombia, and the Navy of Peru, executed about 20 exercises, which included tactical maneuvers, rescue simulations, shooting exercises, communications training and crisis response procedures, aligned with the standards of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization - NATO and strengthening joint resources against security threats in the region, in order to ensure unified operation against common challenges in the Amazonas region.
The BRACOLPER operation has been a symbol of unity and cooperation for the preservation of the Amazon region and in this edition, agreements were reached for the continuous exchange of critical environmental information, with the aim of carrying out effective strategies for the conservation and protection of water and forest resources of this region so important to the world.
It should be noted that BRACOLPER was the favorable environment to commemorate the national holidays of the participating countries and thus reaffirm the bonds of partnership that unite their peoples. In ceremonies held in Manaus, Leticia and Iquitos, the crews of each country celebrated the independence of Brazil, Colombia and Peru.
