At the time of the surrender, the individuals gave weapons and other war materials.
As part of the ongoing deployment of operations to counter the criminal activity of criminal groups in the department of Cauca, a joint operation was carried out conducted by the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, in which five alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 30, Rafael Aguilera, surrendered to justice.
In the Chamón sector, municipality of Guapi, before troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.42 of the Colombian Navy and Infantry Battalion No.56 of Colombian National Army, four men and one woman, alleged FARC dissidents, expressed their voluntary will to take advantage of the route of surrender to justice, provided by the National Government.
At the time of their surrender to the military personnel, they handed over three rifles, 18 magazines, 1,055 cartridges, 700 grams of pentolite, 14 detonators, three multipurpose vests, two tactical backpacks, two bracelets of the "Farc - EP", two manuals with doctrine and five patches alluding to this gang.
The four men, who have belonged to this criminal organization for four years, and the woman, who was allegedly linked six years ago, were apparently carrying out patrol work and criminal presence in the area.
The personnel were provided with first aid, food and immediate accompaniment to the facilities of the Naval Institution, where contact was established with the Humanitarian Assistance Group for the Demobilized – GAHD, to begin their reintegration process into civil society.
