These elements were transported by air and then by river, which will serve to improve the conditions of the children of four indigenous communities. These student chairs were manufactured in recycled plastic by the multinational Hewlett-Packard.
A flight from Bogot谩 by the Colombian Air Force for about two hours, a journey of about 20 nautical miles through the waters of the Amazon River in Colombian Navy boats and coordination by the 26th Brigade of Colombian National Army, were necessary for them to reach four indigenous communities in the rural area of Leticia, more than 200 student chairs and an equal number of school kits.
This social activity, carried out in coordination with the Recupera Tu Silla Foundation, aims to contribute to the improvement of the conditions of the students, young people and adolescents who are currently in their primary and secondary studies.
The indigenous communities of Santa Sof铆a, Maloca Yagua, Loma Linda and El Progreso had been waiting for this support for several months, since some chairs had been beaten by the passing of the years, and the children had to receive their classes with discomfort.
Faced with this scenario, the Military Forces, in a joint work, united their resources, and, with the Foundation, coordinated to fulfill the dream of indigenous children, to have new desks and notebooks that would led them to receive their classes with comfort, thus contributing to student well-being.
The communities were happy to receive this donation, and as a sign of gratitude they held a series of cultural exhibitions and rituals typical of their customs to the members of the Military Forces and the Foundation.
These student chairs were manufactured in recycled plastic by the multinational Hewlett-Packard which represents an important contribution to the care of the environment since materials that were going to be discarded were used, but this time they had a second opportunity to serve, and what better way than to contribute to the education of the citizens of tomorrow.
This donation plays a fundamental role in improving the education of the communities, since it provides its benefited students with a more suitable physical environment for their learning. Counting by means of this new suitable furniture not only works for comfort during classes, but in the same way, leads them to concentrate better on their studies. A desk and a chair are key to prevent distractions caused by physical discomfort, thus leading to greater participation and academic processes, as well as preventing school dropout.
It in the same way contributes to equal opportunities in the educational field, and ensures that its students, regardless of their socio-economic background, have the same basic conditions for learning, which is vital to promote an inclusive and equitable educational environment.
The Military Forces will continue to deploy their logistical and management resources with the aim of contributing to the well-being and improving the quality of life of children, young people and adolescents of the most remote communities.
