There are more than 20 families who, thanks to the security that the troops are providing, have already returned to their homes. In that region, the security operation has been strengthened to increase the protection of the inhabitants.
In the framework of military operations, conducted by Colombian National Army, several troop landings and repositioning of units were carried out and the deployment at strategic points in the center of the department of Caquetá.
This is how, with about 280 members of the Military Forces (100 who arrived and 180 who were already in the area), with differential resources focused on the fight against terrorism, anti-extortion, anti-explosives, institutional control of the territory, among other specialties, the Military Forces are accompanying the communities of the village of El Guamo, rural area of Cartagena del Chairá.
Thanks to this work of the military operation, and to the permanent work of armed aircraft that constantly fly over the region, all the security conditions were provided so that about 20 families who had been forcibly displaced could return to their homes.
The soldiers of the Sixth Division of Colombian National Army helped the people to carry their belongings and stuff and one by one accompanied the families to their homes.
The displacement of these communities had taken place a few days ago due to clashes between the Carolina Ramírez and Raúl Reyes structures, whose ringleaders, alias Ivan Mordisco and alias Calarcá respectively, are fighting with blood and fire for illegal control of the territory, mainly harming the inhabitants who live there.
It is expected that other families who were forcibly displaced by the criminal actions of the illegal structures will return in the coming hours thanks to the accompaniment and presence of Colombian National Army.
