With the firm purpose of fighting against the drug trafficking networks that hit the country, the Colombian Air Force carried out three joint and coordinated operations with Colombian National Army, the Colombian Navy and the National Police in the villages of Aguas Negras, Bajo Santa Helena of the municipality of Puerto As铆s and the Arauca village of the municipality of Orito in the department of Putumayo.
Thanks to military intelligence reports from Air Combat Command No. 6, two potassium permanganate laboratories and a cocaine hydrochloride laboratory were destroyed by its Military and Police Forces, damaging in more than 4,490,000,000 million pesos, the illicit activities of the outlaw groups that commit crimes in the region, thus preventing the production of approximately 15 tons of cocaine hydrochloride per month.
During these operations, 7,837 kilograms of potassium permanganate, 450 kilograms of caustic soda, 200 kilograms of solid cocaine hydrochloride, 2,565 gallons of acetone, 728 gallons of liquid cocaine hydrochloride, 85 gallons of sodium hypochlorite were found by troops and rendered useless, among other essential supplies and utensils for the production of narcotics, highly harmful to the environment.
