Two Colombians were arrested in the operation for the alleged crime of migrant smuggling.

As part of maritime control and surveillance activities in the Department of the Archipelago, the Colombian Navy, through the Specific Command of San Andrés and Providencia, jointly with the Colombian Air Force, found a ship sailing irregularly, allegedly bound for the coasts of Central America.
Immediately, the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés and Providencia sent a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR to the referenced area, finding to the southwest of the island, a boat named Zafir with six irregular migrants on board: four adults and two children of Venezuelan nationality, in addition to two individuals of Colombian nationality, who would be the alleged responsible for transporting these people.
After carrying out the visit procedure, the individuals and the boat were taken to a safe dock to verify their health status and carry out the relevant procedures. The two Colombians were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for the alleged crime of migrant smuggling, seen in article 188 of the Colombian Criminal Code.
