The missions that are carried out within the multinational exercise Resolute Sentinel 2024 and that are oriented to the air, space and cyberspace domains, in addition to preparing men and women to provide support in a joint and combined way in any situation in peacetime, are in the same way carried out to strengthen resources in wartime.
Therefore, in this training, special commandos of the Colombian Aerospace Force are trained to execute roles as JTAC of the future, (JTAC - acronym to Joint Terminal Attack Controller) known within the Colombian Aerospace Force as CAAT (terminal attack air controller, in Spanish), have the enormous responsibility of guiding any military aircraft that is involved in a combat operation to deliver weapons at a precise point.
This exercise requires a space adapted to the necessary conditions to operate safely by the aircraft participating in these simulated missions, which is why they are carried out at the La Joya Air Base polygon, in Arequipa - Peru, host country that received delegations from countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and the United States.
The Special Commandos of the Colombian Aerospace Force train together with multiple nations and doctrines, with communications not only in the native language but in English, facilitating interoperability and standardizing procedures in this type of missions.
This is how the Institution's competences are enhanced, to execute combat missions, working with allied nations, in defense of the country and regional security.
