This hidden laboratory in a wooded area of the sector had an approximate production capacity of two tons of cocaine hydrochloride per month.
In the fight against the drug trafficking chain, the Fourth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through the Field Artillery Battalion No. 4 Coronel Jorge Eduardo Sánchez Rodríguez, dismantled a cocaine hydrochloride laboratory that belonged to the organized gang Los Mesa.
The information provided by National Police officers led the soldiers to arrive at the village of Santa Ana, in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Osos, Antioquia, where they found a wooden structure with cement floor and tiles, which was used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride.
Solid and liquid supplies were found by troops inside the place, which are estimated to cost about 100 million pesos.
In the same way, 14 furnaces, hydraulic presses, scales, drug processor distillation tower, an electric generator, 2 boilers, a compressor and an electric motor pump were found by troops, materials that were destroyed in controlled conditions at the scene.
In the same way, 4 communication equipment, 2 notebooks and 3 precision scales were found by troops, which were taken into custody of the authority.
Through this important military operation carried out in compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, the resources of military and logistical operations of this illegal organization are weakened, and the security and stability of the inhabitants of the Northern subregion of the Department of Antioquia is protected.
