The 27 goods are in different municipalities of Valle del Cauca, and would have a cost of more than 10,848 million pesos, about USD 2,783,000.
The operation was carried out with troops of the Colombian Navy and Colombian National Army, in support of the Technical Investigation Corps – CTI of the Attorney General's Office, during two days in which the expropriation of 27 assets was carried out, in the municipalities of Jamundí, Palmira, Santiago de Cali, Tuluá and Yotoco, which belonged to a drug trafficking network specializing in the shipment of narcotic substances destined for Central America and Mexico.
This operation was possible, due to the intelligence work of the Colombian Navy on this drug trafficking organization led by the individual alias El Ingeniero, who was arrested in 2023, for crimes related to drug trafficking. Subsequently, in coordination with the Expropriation Directorate of the Attorney General's Office and the Illicit Assets Recovery Group of the Technical Investigation Corps - CTI, the respective procedure for the materialization of the measure of seizure and suspension of property by the Special Assets Society - SAE was conducted. The financial, tax, patrimonial and commercial evidence obtained against the economic empire of the drug trafficking structure led to the establishment of the illegal origin of the properties.
The damage to this drug trafficking structure with the seizure of these assets, which were in the hands of people close to the drug trafficking organization, through which they planned to hide them of the authorities in order to prevent their finding, exceeds 10,848 million pesos, equivalent to approximately 2.8 million dollars.
The decisive blow dealt to this drug trafficking organization considerably weakens the economic and logistical capacity of this criminal structure in the region, and in addition, to reaffirm the determination of the Colombian authorities in the fight against drug trafficking and in the defense of the national heritage.
It should be noted that this operation, in which 27 objects were hit, including real estate, commercial companies, public establishments and vehicles, was carried out by the Colombian Navy troops attached to the Southwest Joint Command through the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, of the Third Division of Colombian National Army through Army Brigade No.3, in support of the Attorney General's Office.
The National Navy of Colombia, in collaboration with other State institutions, reaffirms its continuous commitment to work tirelessly to neutralize criminal organizations that threaten the security and tranquility of Colombian citizens.
