In just 24 hours and thanks to a military intelligence work, a mined area and an illegal hiding place with explosive devices that would be used against the inhabitants and the Military Forces were found by troops.
Thanks to military intelligence, a number of military operations are still being carried out against the various armed groups organized outlaw that commit crimes in the south of the country.
The Twenty-seventh Rainforest Brigade and the Military Operations Command for Stabilization and Consolidation (Jupiter) found a new illegal hiding place that would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 48 Comandos de Frontera, in which they stored 32 detonators, more than 32 improvised explosive devices, 435 meters of detonating cord, 100 meters of two wire cable and 6 drone mines, ready to be used against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.
This military operation took place in the vicinity of the village of Las Mariposas, municipality of Villagarz贸n, Putumayo, place where National Army troops arrived and found in the middle of the thick vegetation the dangerous devices stored under black plastics.
In the same way, during a second military operation, a mined area was found with six improvised explosive devices planted on a rural road, in the village of El Cabildo Alto El Mango, municipality of Puerto Guzm谩n, Putumayo.
According to the first information, the so-called Comandos de Frontera of the Second Marquetalia would have these elements in the area due to the heavy operation of the authorities, and, for fear of being discovered, they moved them to this region, hoping to disorient the troops, to later install them as part of the terrorist operations against the inhabitants, the Military Forces and the critical constructions of the State, using unmanned aerial vehicles.
With these important results of the military operation, the criminal operations of the organized armed groups outlaw that commit crimes in the south of the country continue to be weakened, damaging their logistical and criminal networks, making progress in providing the conditions of security, defense and well-being of the communities.
Regarding the area of the events, the Command of the Sixth Division ordered the strengthening of the security operation in order to prevent events that, in the light of international humanitarian law, could put the life and good physical condition of the inhabitants at risk, as well as comply with the recommendations issued by the Ombudsman's Office in the different early warnings issued in this area of the country.
