More than 380 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops in the place.
Within the framework of operations aimed at dismantling the sources of financing of the illegal armed groups, a coca-growing complex that would cost 2,000 million pesos, about USD 482,000, with the capacity to produce more than a ton of drugs per month, was found in the rural area of the municipality of Arboledas, Department of Norte de Santander.
The soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No. 13, in coordination with the National Police, arrived at the Gurupal village, where they found five rustic structures used to produce cocaine hydrochloride. More than 380 kilos of the drug, about 1500 gallons of liquid substances and more than 200 kilos of solid substances were found by troops at the place, as well as abundant elements used in the production of drugs.
During the operation, it was evident that the structures were used according to the process of making the drug, and that one of the constructions served as a resting place for those involved in this crime.
The organized armed group ELN has interference in this area of the municipality, which is presumed to be the owner of this cocaine complex.
