Within the framework of Colombian National Army's Ayacucho Operations Plan, troops of the Mechanized Cavalry Group No. 10 Tequendama, of the 13th Brigade, in coordination with the National Police Directorate and the Regional Autonomous Corporation, dealt a powerful blow to the illicit finances of the organized crime groups that commit crimes in Cundinamarca.
The interagency intervention carried out in the Aurora Alta village, in the municipality of La Calera, led to the finding of a mining production unit valued at 2,100,000,000 pesos, as well as 2 excavators and 3 dump trucks.
In the judicial procedure, three individuals who were in the place were in the same way arrested in flagrante delicto, who could be charged with the crime of illicit exploitation of natural resources.
The construction found had an estimated production of 5,400 tons of drag material per month, with an approximate cost of 442,800,000 pesos, so this operation directly hits the illegal activities of organized crime groups that commit crimes in the department.
In the same way, the environmental damage caused to the natural resources and ecosystems of the area was stopped, as well as deforestation, the air and soil pollution, whose recovery will take approximately 40 years.
