Within the framework of Colombian National Army's Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Sixth Division and the 13th Brigade, in coordination with agents of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, carried out three raids in different parts of Bogot谩 and the department of Tolima, with which they dismantled a network that specialized in the trafficking of weapons, ammunition, explosives and military accessories material, with an operations center in the capital city of the country.
Troops of the Cundinamarca Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the Special Forces Battalion No.5 of the Thirteenth Brigade, as well as the Special Forces Battalion No.6, of the Sixth Division, arrested 8 individuals who would belong to this network that had its production, collection and distribution center in the locality Santa Fe in the city of Bogot谩.
In the same way, it was possible to arrest with a court order alias Johan, the alleged head of this criminal organization, who had a criminal record for the crimes of trafficking in military accessories material and who was in the municipality of Flandes, Tolima.
During the raids, the troops found approximately 500 meters of detonating cord, 90 cartridges of different calibers, 4 magazines, 10 sewing machines, 130 uniforms for the exclusive use of the Military Forces and military accessories.
The investigation that began in March 2023, thanks to key intelligence information of the Military Counterintelligence Battalion No. 9, led to determine that this organized crime group made uniforms similar to those used by the Military Forces and the National Police and sold them to organized armed groups in the departments of Caquet谩 and Cauca.
In this way, the troops of Colombian National Army strike the illegal finances of the criminal structures that attack the life and good physical condition of Colombians.
