Thanks to an inter-institutional operation, where work is being carried out in coordination with the military resources and the support of the judicial authorities, these important results against extortion were possible.
Thanks to the intelligence efforts and the information received by the inhabitants, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Antioquia, of the Fourth Brigade, in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) Gaula Antioquia, of the Attorney General's Office, are launching a military operation to find those responsible for demanding the money of several merchants in the municipality of Santa B谩rbara, Antioquia.
After several days of investigation, the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) soldiers and the judicial component identified that the extortion calls were made from a prison. The individual at his place of confinement sent people to make the examinations of the victims, and to obtain the necessary information in order to frighten and execute the monetary extortions.
When continuing with the intelligence work, they reached the municipality of Santa B谩rbara, Antioquia, where from prison the appointment place had been given for the payment of 20 million pesos that they demanded from a trader in the sector. This led to the arrest of alias la Negra, an alleged member of the Los Cardona common crime group. This woman arrived at the place where the payment had been coordinated and when she received the money she was surprised by the soldiers and officials of the CTI.
Alias la Negra was given a prison sentence and the material found was put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
