In the municipality of San Luis de Palenque in Casanare, thanks to the joint and coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy, Colombian National Army and the National Police, it was possible to materialize an arrest warrant in force against alias Alvarín, who would be a member of the Support Network for Residual Groups - RAER - of the structure 28 of the Central General Staff of the FARC.
According to investigations, for more than five years, the arrested person would have been in charge of collecting extorted money from merchants and ranchers in Casanare. For this reason, the judicial authorities required him for the alleged crime of association to commit aggravated crimes.
Alias Alvarín allegedly fled of the authorities in April 2024 in the middle of a search procedure carried out in one of his properties, this after having attacked the members of the Military Forces with a firearm and started to escape. On this occasion, he was arrested by units of the Judicial Police, with the support of Groups of Special Forces of the Navy, on a farm in the village of Guaracuras, municipality of San Luis de Palenque, where he was collecting stolen cattle.
The arrested man was taken and put into custody of the judicial authorities in the city of Yopal - Casanare.
The Colombian Navy, through the Orinoquía Naval Force, will maintain and unrestrictedly strengthen the joint, coordinated and inter-institutional security operations conducted in the departments of Arauca, Casanare, Guainía, Guaviare, Meta and Vichada, in order to combat illegal armed groups, and maintain a safe and protected environment in this area of the country.
